Blockchain transactions are final
Once a transaction is confirmed on the blockchain, it is permanent. It cannot be canceled, refunded, or reverted by Rabby or any other party. If funds are sent to the wrong address, the wrong token is purchased, or a scam occurs, Rabby cannot reverse the transaction or reimburse lost assets.
Rabby is a self-custodial wallet, which means you are always in full control of your assets. Unlike banks or centralized exchanges, Rabby never holds your funds. While this gives you total financial freedom, it also means there is no central authority to "undo" a mistake.
What this means for you
As the sole custodian of your wallet, your safety depends on your diligence:
Always double-check wallet addresses before sending funds.
Centralized Exchange (CEX) Deposits: When sending funds to an exchange deposit address, follow their guidance strictly. Ensure the deposit address supports both the network you are using and the specific token you are sending.
Research before interacting: Always "Do Your Own Research" (DYOR) before using a new dApp, interacting with a smart contract, or buying a token.
If a mistake happens when sending funds to an exchange
If you accidentally send funds to an exchange incorrectly (e.g., using the wrong network or token), Rabby Support cannot retrieve them. Once the transaction is successful, the funds are no longer in your wallet—they are held by the exchange.
To attempt a recovery:
Contact the Exchange Support team immediately. Since they hold the private keys to the receiving address, only they have the technical ability to access the funds.
Provide the necessary proof: You will need to give them your Transaction Hash (TXID) and the specific wallet address used in the transfer.
